Vote Of Thanks Ata Wedding Ceremony

The mysterious noise

So, that's a long winter break (the winter was even infinite) and a lot has happened since then. The Mobile Gallery actually got TÜV again!

Only this mysterious noise makes me worried now ... I'll write down here all times of what I know about it, and simultaneously tender a "competition":
who identified the sound really gets a set of postcards from me, and who solves the problem (repaired within the meaning of) gets a picture of his choice in the format 67x100cm (Gallery price 450 €)!

The car:

Mercedes-Benz MB 207 D, Diesel, built in 1982. Had to listen to even terms like "economic total loss" and "hazardous waste", but in fact very reliable and good-natured.

The sound:

It sounds as if you open a glass jar with a vacuum seal, so to best describe as a crack. Volume and pitch are variable, and there is irregular.
It seems more or less to be independent of the speed, and apparently has nothing to do with vibrations (bumps, etc.).

Where it comes from is difficult to locate, with a lot of wishful thinking I had long been told, it came from the interior ... is probably not so ;-(

thanks helpful passenger, I found it on the shift lever over into the driver's cabin "echoes" (because I have a hole in the rubber boot, but that's another story populated with small rodents I'll tell you one time ...)

occurrence:

only on long trips, once I had to drive about 400 km highway to hear it, now reach about 250km. It has also become louder since last year.
At idle, the noise occurs on at all.
day I got the car time to cool down for two hours, and then I continued on, after about 5 min was the sound back! stay over night helps but, I can drive 250 km the next day until it comes back, so obviously there must be something really warm ...
When it starts, I hear it is only used every few miles, then it often and loudly.

solution:

'm grateful for each proposal, via comment, e-mail to photoscales@yahoo.de, or whatever. I am happy also to answer questions.
workshops, can continue to help me, I will also like to link here on the blog.

I look forward to your tips!
